eLearning Community of Practice

As a clinician and educator, Suzanne is keen to bridge what the books say about mental illness with what real people experience in their daily life, so as to make conceptual knowledge come alive and to promote a more humanistic understanding of service users’ experiences.

Funded by the University Grant Committee (UGC) Teaching Award, Suzanne developed a set of 8 micro-modules on anxiety and depression. The micro-modules, entitled ‘Low-Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy’, are freely accessible through the KEEP online platform (https://course.keep.edu.hk/). These theory-informed micro-modules, conducted in Cantonese, illustrate the core clinical features of several anxiety and depressive disorders, as well as basic concepts and skills for assessing these symptoms. The materials can be used in a blended learning or flipped classroom mode for undergraduate and postgraduate courses in psychology, clinical psychology, counselling, education, social work, medicine and nursing, etc.

Funded by the CUHK Micro-Module Courseware Development Grant, Suzanne also developed a set of 4 micro-modules on ‘The Art and Science of Clinical Supervision’. These materials combine up-to-date literature on clinical supervision and evidence-based practice with first-hand experience sharing from clinical psychology students, graduates and supervisors.
